Conduct
scientific studies on the ecology and status of the Puma and disseminate the
results of those studies for the benefit of the public, the scientific and
academic community and management agencies.
To study identifiable Puma populations in Ontario, and to confirm the sub-specific identity(s) whenever possible.
To educate and inform people residing in the province about Ontarios species at risk, in particular, the Puma - including potential conflicts and solutions.
To work in partnership with government agencies (e.g. Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment Canada) and other organizations (COSEWIC, Federation of Ontario Naturalists et. al.) to obtain and share the most accurate data of Pumas in the province of Ontario.
Provide
support to projects involving the recovery of the Puma and its habitat in Ontario.
To protect large wilderness tracts to allow Pumas to roam uninhibited and encourage the protection of habitat for existing Puma populations in the province of Ontario.
Establish and conduct educational programmes for the benefit of the public,
educational institutions and management agencies on the ecology, status and
protection of Ontarios endangered Puma.
The Ontario Puma Foundation (Charitable Status No. 863385803 RR0001) shall be carried on without purpose of gain for its members, and any profits or other accretions to the organization shall be used solely to promote its objectives.
